Green Light for Lakeside's Greenhouse Grown "Stramato" Strawberry Tomatoes
In response to the current Salmonella Saintpaul outbreak linked to fresh tomatoes, Lakeside Produce, a Canadian-based greenhouse grower and marketer, would like to assure retailers and consumers that they can trust our produce.
Lakeside is Primus-third party certified, and our food safety policy stands behind each and every vegetable we market. Whether grown in our Canadian, American or Mexican facilities, we require our growers to adhere to documented Good Agricultural Practices (GAP). Our greenhouse vegetables are grown in a highly controlled environment which allows us to regulate all aspects of production and packaging and reduce exposure to hazards.
The "Stramato" Strawberry Tomato which is exclusive to Lakeside Produce, meets or exceeds industry standards for quality and food safety. The development of traceability processes can trace the history, location and quality standards of all of the vegetables we grow. All of our produce, including our Tomatoes on the Vine, Beefsteak, Heirloom and the "Stramato" Strawberry Tomato can be consumed with complete confidence.
Lakeside Produce is owned by the Cervini family, which has run a successful greenhouse operation since 1943, giving them an innate understanding of growing, selling and shipping top-quality greenhouse produce that consumers can trust.
